[ i'm waiting has dean wanting to show up anywhere but at the bar. it's ominous, has him feeling nervous and tense over whatever might be said or done-- and how he's handled things so far. not well, if he's honest. sam's arrival, and jess', coupled with already having cas and jo around has been...
it's been a lot.
a little overwhelming, too. yet he can't imagine what life's been like for her, now that she has hers again.
so sometime later dean's finally stepping into the bar, looking around cautiously. ]
[ and maybe that had been a bit unfair to dean, leaving her text like that. maybe she should have assumed that he'd take it in every wrong way he could take it. but at the same time it's a rough topic for her, still, and she needs to make sure he understands that. ]
Hey.
[ but she's not mad, and that's the thick of it. she looks up from where she'd been cleaning the counter and does give him an easy enough smiling - slightly amused, with her eyebrows raised.
because jo might also know that if dean comes in here defensive, they won't get anything done at all. ]
Took you long enough. You get lost? [ she says, setting down two glasses and a bottle of whiskey. ]
[ she offers her hey, so he offers his carefully back at her-- and is clearly eying her for any signs of anger. when he finds none though, dean visibly relaxes, especially as he spots the glasses she's putting out.
whew. ]
Uh, something like that. You know how many little streets and roads there're around here. And that tram thing takes forever.
[ #excuses.
but dean draws himself up to the bar, settling into a stool as his eyes rest on her. she looks good, really good. nice and well and alive. he drops his gaze after a moment. ]
[ she waits until she can see the muscles relax in his shoulders before she shakes her head, moving about the bar like she's already settled herself in. which, really, she has - experience is experience and she knows her way around a bar better than just about anyone.
it reads in her every movement, turning back to where she'd been cleaning glasses and putting the last of them up. ]
I bet. I hate waiting for trains anyway. I'm about ready to find myself a truck just so I don't have to wait for it.
[ who even cares how possible that is or isn't. jo's not one to wait on the whims of anyone, including public transport.
that's when she looks over and sees dean staring at her, cracks a small grin as she puts away the rest of what she'd been cleaning. ]
You think? [ she even poses, clearly making it a joke, before she walks back to stand in front of him at the bar, pouring them both a healthy amount. ] I figured if I was gonna be here I might as well do something with it. What about you? [ a look through falling curls. ] Anything interesting?
text.
I'll be there in 15.
